Sustainability data is prepared against a published basis of preparation and subject to limited independent assurance. Emissions, water, safety and payments-to-governments data are within the assured scope. Community investment, local procurement percentages and biodiversity outcomes are internally verified and are not within the assured scope, and the distinction is stated in each document.

Annual reporting
Quintel is privately held and is not required to publish audited group accounts. We publish an annual review anyway, on the principle that a company operating on public mineral resources should be readable by the public that owns them.

Reporting basis
How to read our numbers
Four things a reader should know before comparing any figure on this site with a figure published by another mining company.
Reporting period
The financial year ends on 31 December. All figures relate to FY2025 unless stated otherwise. Half-year production is reported in July.
Resources and reserves
Estimated under the JORC Code (2012), or SAMREC (2016) for the South African asset. Mineral resources are reported inclusive of ore reserves, which is the more conservative of the two conventions in use. Reconciliation against actual mined tonnes and grades is published annually and variances above 5% are explained.
Emissions
Scope 1 and 2 are reported market-based and location-based, with market-based used for the target. Scope 3 categories calculated using spend-based or industry-average factors are marked as estimated and are outside the assurance scope.
Safety
TRIFR includes contractor hours in both numerator and denominator. Many published mining safety rates exclude contractors, which produces a materially better-looking number for the same underlying performance.
